Resurrection Sunday

Greetings friends,

Today’s post is not a recipe๐Ÿ™Š but it is important this day because I am a staunch follower of Jesus Christ๐Ÿ˜„.

Today I was just thinking about why the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the basis of my faith and life. See, if He was still in that tomb, I would be a fool to believe in and fashion my entire life on the words of a dead man, there would be no point in believing that the bible contains the perfect and flawless words of the Living God. If my Jesus was not raised from the dead, then I might as well live each day in abandon; doing either good or evil wouldn’t really matter because the future would be a dark hole with no hope.

But I thank God with every fibre in my being that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. I know this because my very life is a testimony that Jesus lives. I experience the resurrected Jesus daily through studying the Word of God, through creation and in prayer. How else can I explain how my life has been turned right side up even as I habitually live in the place of love, joy and peace, no matter what’s happening around me. In truth, during this current international crisis, I have been wondering whether there is something wrong with me for not being worried, anxious or bothered. I write this in all humilty. This Jesus has a way of insulating anyone who trusts Him, from the troubles and cares in this world. He brings you into that space where you are like an eagle that soars high above the storms. It’s really an amazing reality.

There is a price for this reality. That price is a choice one has to make -to fix your eye of the Christ or on the world. For me, I choose, on a moment by moment basis even, to fix my eyes on the Christ and to see Him as He is. By the Word, I see a gentle, kind, compassionate, humble, stable, merciful, good, just, righteous, joyful, peaceable, loving, temperate, faithful, reliable, understanding, Jesus Christ. As I behold this divine nature, I am empowered to partake of it not by my own power or might but by His life in me. Of course I have not yet arrived I in the place and fullness of character Father God has ordsined for me-No Way- but I left and am not turning back๐Ÿ˜ƒ. It’s wonderful to know that this Jesus life is a journey – a marathon and not a sprint. It’s even more amazing to know that its a race we cannot loose because God always causes us to triumph in Christ(2 CORINTHIANS 2:14). The journey is oh-so- fulfilling. It’s the a crazy adventure where one learns to be a child again. In this life, the joy and laughter outweighs the tears and mourning; favor outweighs judgement; the beauty of the new life outweighs the ashes of the old๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„. It’s never too late to walk out the door and take that first step in the Jesus direction.

The bible tells me that the Word of God was made flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (JOHN 1:14) so everytime one reads the bible, they are having an encounter with Jesus Christ and He alone has the power to make us free and to heal our brokenness.

Every human being is nursing some kind of brokenness because we are born in a fallen and corrupt world. When I encounter people who are rude, boastful, proud, unkind, dishonest, haters, sad, depressed, worried, gossip mongers, envious, slanderers, malicious, angry, envious, jealous, liars, etc….I’ve matured enough to see these traits as a manifestations of a heart God wants to heal. Hear my heart on this; am not judging at all because I was all these things and more. But the Jesus๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ ……oh the precious and perfect Word of God fixed me and made me whole. Something dead is simply incapable of making whole – how?

The resurrected Jesus is so zealous and passionate about making each one of us free to be the people he created us to be- vessels of love, hope, healing, life, wholeness and much more. This, because free people will free others. Healed people will heal others. Whole people will make others whole. Loved people will love others.

If Father God did not raise my Jesus from the dead, there would be no hope for me; for all of mankind. I would not be the woman that I am today if Jesus was dead!!

The hope i have to be a vessel of hope, love and healing on earth is rooted in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because He died and was raised I have a hope which is alive and is already true: JESUS IS RISEN. HE IS ALIVE TODAY๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ

My prayer is that this post has blessed someone today๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฟ.

Happy Resurrection Sunday.
